How It Works

The Kohler 26RCA is permanently wired to your home's electrical system through a dedicated automatic transfer switch (ATS). The onboard controller monitors incoming utility voltage around the clock. The moment an outage is detected, the generator cranks, warms up, and assumes your home's electrical load — all within approximately 10 seconds. When utility power is restored, the controller transfers the load back and shuts the generator down automatically.

Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Integration: The ATS continuously senses grid voltage and frequency, and upon detecting an outage, signals the generator to start and safely transfers the home's electrical load from utility to generator power — eliminating any risk of back-feeding the utility grid.

This is the first stage of my three planned purches. I got the eg4 inverter 6000 XP base kit with six 400 watt panels and the two server rack batteries. Did a little online research and followed the instructions and it got set up without any issues. Right now I'm just running it in my garage on a single outlet and have been running dual 750 watt water distillers with it. Once I get the second inverter and a bunch more panels and batteries, I plan on attaching it to my subpanel in my house that has my lights and outlets and appliances on it. Then I'll get a soft start for my AC and blower and run it on my main panel.
