Mission Solar Energy MSI10-550T4T 550W PERC Bifacial Monocrystalline Solar Panel
Model MSI10-550T4T | PERC Bifacial Monocrystalline | 144 Half-Cut Cells | Bifacial Dual Glass | 1500V System Voltage
550 WMax Power Output21.5%Module Efficiency144PERC Half-Cut CellsProduct Overview
The Mission Solar Energy MSI10-550T4T 550W PERC bifacial monocrystalline solar panel is engineered for demanding commercial and utility scale projects. This high power module combines 550 watt front side output with bifacial energy gain, helping arrays produce more energy from the same footprint. Dual glass construction and an anodized aluminium frame deliver excellent durability in harsh climates. The 144 half cut PERC cells are laid out in a 6x24 configuration and optimized for efficiency and reliability. With module efficiency up to 21.5 percent, this panel supports space constrained rooftops and large ground mounts alike. A 1500 volt system rating allows longer strings, which can lower balance of system costs. Manufactured by Mission Solar Energy in the United States, this module is tested to stringent UL and IEC standards for long term performance. The MSI10-550T4T offers bankable performance, predictable degradation, and robust mechanical strength for long haul operation.
Key Benefits
High power density: A 550 watt rated output with up to 21.5 percent efficiency allows more power per module. This can reduce racking, wiring, and installation labor across the project.
Bifacial energy harvest: Bifacial PERC cells capture light from the front and rear sides. Properly designed systems can benefit from additional rear side power gain on reflective surfaces.
Robust dual glass design: The dual glass build protects cells from moisture and mechanical stress. This helps maintain power output in challenging weather over many years of service.
Proven reliability and certifications: The module is tested to UL 61730 and IEC standards and is PID resistant. It is also resistant to salt mist corrosion, making it suitable for coastal installations.
Long term performance assurance: A 12 year product warranty and long power warranty support lifecycle planning. Degradation is tightly controlled, helping preserve long term energy yield.
How It Works
This bifacial PERC solar module converts sunlight into usable DC electricity through high efficiency monocrystalline cells. When sunlight hits the front glass, photons are absorbed by the 144 half cut cells and generate an electrical current. The PERC structure increases light capture and reduces recombination losses, which improves conversion efficiency. Rear side glass also allows diffused and reflected light to reach the cell rear surface for extra energy production. The Optimized electrical design keeps resistive losses low, even at 550 watt output. The resulting DC power flows through the junction box, bypass diodes, and MC4 connectors to the string wiring. An inverter then converts this DC power into AC power for buildings, equipment, or grid export. Mechanical strength ratings allow the panel to operate under heavy snow, wind, and hail while maintaining structural integrity.
Bifacial PERC cell conversion: Each 182 by 91 millimeter monocrystalline cell uses Passivated Emitter Rear Contact technology. This design captures more light by reflecting unabsorbed photons back into the cell for a second pass. The bifacial layout uses a transparent rear side so additional light from ground reflection contributes to current generation.
Half-cut cell and string layout: Cells are cut in half to reduce current in each path, lowering resistive losses and boosting efficiency. The 6x24 array layout also improves shade tolerance because the module is split into independent sections that limit mismatch losses.
System integration and protection: The junction box houses three bypass diodes that reduce hot spot risk under partial shading. MC4 connectors and 4 square millimeter cables simplify string wiring and ensure low contact resistance. A high 1500 volt system rating lets designers configure longer strings and reduce combiner hardware in large arrays.
