This current is routed to an inverter or charge controller, depending on the system design. The module’s electrical behaviour is defined by parameters such as open circuit voltage, short circuit current, and voltage at maximum power. Together these values guide string configuration and inverter selection. Temperature coefficients describe how power and voltage change as cell temperature rises, which helps engineers model actual field performance. Over time, the panel experiences gradual power degradation, but defined warranty levels ensure specified minimum output across decades of operation.
