About Electric Vehicle (EV) Chargers
An EV charger is the piece of electrical equipment you will use more than any other — every single day, for the life of the vehicle. This collection brings together Level 2 home chargers, commercial-grade EVSE, bidirectional DC charging modules, and the accessories that complete a code-compliant installation, all from brands our team has sized, sold, and supported: Wallbox, Enphase, SolarEdge, Autel, Generac, GoodWe, and Sigenergy.
Level 2 vs. DC Fast Charging
Level 2 chargers run on a 208–240V dedicated circuit and are the right answer for almost every home and workplace. They add roughly 20–45 miles of range per hour, so a full overnight charge is a given regardless of battery size. DC fast charging steps up to 400V+ direct current and 25 kW or more — the Sigenergy SigenStor 25 kW DC modules in this collection are bidirectional, meaning they support vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) operation so your EV can back up your building during an outage. DC units make sense for fleets, commercial sites, and solar-plus-storage installations; for overnight residential charging, Level 2 remains the cost-effective standard.
Home vs. Commercial Installations
Home buyers should look at plug-in (NEMA 14-50) or hardwired wall units with Wi-Fi scheduling and utility rate integration — the Wallbox Pulsar-series smart chargers, Enphase HCS-40 hardwired and plug-in models, and SolarEdge 40A units here all qualify, and several integrate directly with a solar inverter so you can charge from excess panel production. The SolarEdge Energy Hub EV-charging inverters combine the solar inverter and the charger into one device, eliminating a separate breaker run. Commercial and multi-unit projects need load management, pedestal mounting (see the Enphase CS-Pedestal), and pre-cast charging-station foundations for parking-lot installs — all stocked here or in our EV charging accessories and charging station foundations collections.
Connector Types: NACS vs. J1772 vs. CCS1
J1772 is the universal Level 2 connector for every non-Tesla EV sold in North America, and every J1772 unit works with Tesla vehicles using the adapter included with the car. NACS — the Tesla connector, now standardized as SAE J3400 — is becoming the default on new Ford, GM, Rivian, and other 2025+ models. For DC fast charging, CCS1 is the prevailing standard while NACS-native DC hardware ramps up. Our advice: buy the connector your vehicle uses today; quality chargers hold value, and adapters cover the transition period.
Amperage Sizing: How Much Charger Do You Need?
Charger amperage must be matched to a dedicated breaker sized at 125% of continuous load: a 32A charger needs a 40A breaker, a 40A charger needs a 50A breaker, and a 48–50A charger needs a 60–70A breaker. A 32A unit adds about 25 miles of range per hour; a 48A unit adds 35–45. Check your main panel's spare capacity before stepping up to 48A — many 100A services are better served by a 32–40A smart charger with load management than by a panel upgrade. Our team sizes EV circuits daily; send us your panel schedule and vehicle model and we will spec the charger, breaker, and wire gauge in one quote.
