How It Works

This Cummins OTEC ATS continuously monitors both utility and generator power sources to ensure reliability. When the utility grid fails, the switch signals the generator to start immediately. Once the generator reaches stable voltage, the ATS transfers the load automatically. The system uses an open transition, break-before-make action to prevent source-to-source connection. This ensures the load is completely disconnected from both sources briefly during transfer. Once utility power stabilizes, the switch returns the load to the primary source seamlessly. The integrated controller manages all timing and testing functions automatically for ease of use.

Power Monitoring: The microprocessor controller constantly checks voltage levels on both utility and generator inputs.

Generator Start Signal: Upon detecting a utility outage, the switch sends a startup signal to the backup generator.

Open Transition Transfer: The bi-directional linear actuator disconnects the load before connecting it to the backup source.

This is the first stage of my three planned purches. I got the eg4 inverter 6000 XP base kit with six 400 watt panels and the two server rack batteries. Did a little online research and followed the instructions and it got set up without any issues. Right now I'm just running it in my garage on a single outlet and have been running dual 750 watt water distillers with it. Once I get the second inverter and a bunch more panels and batteries, I plan on attaching it to my subpanel in my house that has my lights and outlets and appliances on it. Then I'll get a soft start for my AC and blower and run it on my main panel.
