This ABi-Solar AB460-60MHC solar panel converts sunlight into usable electrical power through PERC monocrystalline cell technology. Sunlight strikes the 120 half-cut cells, where photons are absorbed and generate direct current. The half-cell design reduces internal losses and enhances efficiency compared with full cell modules. Electrical energy flows through optimized busbars and ribbons to the junction box, where MC4 connectors deliver power to the DC wiring. In a typical system, several modules are wired in series and connected to a string inverter or hybrid inverter. The inverter transforms the direct current into alternating current for household loads or grid export. System performance is supported across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, while carefully engineered temperature coefficients help maintain output as panel temperature rises under strong sun.
PERC monocrystalline energy conversion: Each PERC monocrystalline cell uses a passivated rear surface that improves light absorption and reduces recombination losses. This structure helps the panel deliver a higher percentage of sunlight as electrical power compared with standard cells.
Half-cell layout with optimized current flow: The 120 half-cells are arranged to reduce current in each cell string, which lowers resistive losses. This configuration also improves shade tolerance, so output drops less when a section of the module experiences partial shading.
