How to Size a Charge Controller

Controller Amps = Array Short-Circuit Current (Isc) × 1.25 (NEC safety) × 1.25 (continuous use)

Example: 4 × 450W panels (Isc = 11.5A each) in parallel = 46A × 1.25 × 1.25 = 71.9A → Use 80A controller
