How It Works

This automatic transfer switch constantly monitors both utility and generator power sources. When a utility outage occurs, the controller signals the generator to start immediately. The system then disconnects the load from the utility source safely. After a programmed delay, it connects the load to the generator power source. This break-before-make action prevents dangerous source-to-source connections. Once utility power stabilizes, the switch returns the load to normal utility power automatically.

Power Source Monitoring: The microprocessor controller continuously senses voltage levels on both utility and generator inputs. It detects phase rotation and voltage imbalances instantly to ensure safe operation.

Programmed Transition: Open transition timing can be adjusted to disconnect the load completely from both sources. This pause is crucial for protecting large inductive loads from damage during switching.

Mechanical Interlocking: Mechanical and electrical interlocks prevent simultaneous closing of normal and emergency contacts. This positive interlocking ensures absolute safety against source-to-source short circuits.

EG4 off-grid base kit, Happy with my purchase.

This is the first stage of my three planned purches. I got the eg4 inverter 6000 XP base kit with six 400 watt panels and the two server rack batteries. Did a little online research and followed the instructions and it got set up without any issues. Right now I'm just running it in my garage on a single outlet and have been running dual 750 watt water distillers with it. Once I get the second inverter and a bunch more panels and batteries, I plan on attaching it to my subpanel in my house that has my lights and outlets and appliances on it. Then I'll get a soft start for my AC and blower and run it on my main panel.
