How It Works

The Cummins OTEC transfer switch continuously monitors both the primary utility power and the standby generator set. When the utility power fails or becomes unstable, the system automatically signals the generator to start. Once the generator reaches a stable operating state, the switch transfers the electrical load to the generator source. Upon restoration of stable utility power, the switch returns the load to the primary source automatically. This break-before-make action ensures a safe transition by completely disconnecting the load from both sources momentarily. The fully integrated controller manages these sequences with precision using microprocessor technology.

Automatic Voltage Monitoring: The system constantly checks voltage levels on both sources to detect faults or instability instantly.

Generator Start Signal: Upon utility failure, the controller sends a signal to start the generator set automatically without manual intervention.

Load Transfer Mechanism: A bi-directional linear actuator provides friction-free, straight-line transfer action for reliable automatic operation.

EG4 off-grid base kit, Happy with my purchase.

This is the first stage of my three planned purches. I got the eg4 inverter 6000 XP base kit with six 400 watt panels and the two server rack batteries. Did a little online research and followed the instructions and it got set up without any issues. Right now I'm just running it in my garage on a single outlet and have been running dual 750 watt water distillers with it. Once I get the second inverter and a bunch more panels and batteries, I plan on attaching it to my subpanel in my house that has my lights and outlets and appliances on it. Then I'll get a soft start for my AC and blower and run it on my main panel.
