How It Works
The Photon Energy Systems PMM0240 panel converts sunlight into electricity through the photovoltaic effect. Sunlight consists of particles called photons that carry distinct energy packets. When these photons strike the mono-crystalline silicon cells, they transfer their energy to the electrons. This energy transfer knocks electrons free from their atomic bonds. The freed electrons then flow through the cell to create an electric current. This current is captured by the metal contacts on the cell surface. The current flows out through the prefixed cables to the inverter or battery. The process happens instantly whenever light hits the panel surface. This mechanism ensures continuous power generation during daylight hours.
Photon Absorption: Silicon cells eagerly absorb incoming photons from sunlight. Upon absorption, electrons break free from their atoms to start the flow.
Electron Excitation: The energy from photons excites the electrons within the silicon material. This excitation creates a potential difference that drives the current.
