How It Works

This Sun Earth East Solar 480W panel converts sunlight into usable direct current power through high efficiency monocrystalline cells. The panel uses 120 half cut cells, which are arranged in strings to balance voltage and current for typical string inverter inputs. When sunlight reaches the silicon material, electrons are released and guided through the module’s internal busbars. The generated direct current is carried through the IP68 rated junction box and attached cables to your inverter. The inverter then converts the power into alternating current for site loads or export. Thermal coefficients are optimized, so output loss at high temperatures is reduced compared with older modules. Over its lifetime, controlled degradation ensures that production remains predictable for energy planning.

Monocrystalline half-cell generation: The panel uses 120 monocrystalline half cells sized 182 by 91 millimeters. Each half cell generates voltage under light while producing lower resistive losses than full cells. The half cell layout improves shade tolerance and leads to more stable output when part of the panel is covered.

Optimized electrical parameters: At standard test conditions the module delivers a maximum power of 480 watt peak. Voltage at maximum power is about 35.4 volts, while current at maximum power reaches 13.56 amps. Open circuit voltage is 42.6 volts and short circuit current is 14.34 amps. These characteristics let installers design efficient strings that match 1500 volt inverters and reduce wiring runs.

Thermal behavior and durability: The temperature coefficient of power is around minus 0.30 percent per degree Celsius. This is the first stage of my three planned purches. I got the eg4 inverter 6000 XP base kit with six 400 watt panels and the two server rack batteries. Did a little online research and followed the instructions and it got set up without any issues. Right now I'm just running it in my garage on a single outlet and have been running dual 750 watt water distillers with it.
