How It Works

The Tongwei TWMNH-48HD460W solar panel converts sunlight into usable DC electricity using high efficiency N-type monocrystalline cells. When sunlight hits the front glass, photons are absorbed by the cells and release electrons. These electrons are driven through the cell structure, creating an electric current that flows through the panel wiring. Because this module is bifacial, the rear glass also collects light that reflects from the ground, carport surfaces, or nearby structures. Both sides feed power into the same electrical circuit, increasing total energy generation over the year. The produced DC power is sent through strings of modules to an inverter, which converts it to AC power for household or commercial use. Advanced temperature coefficients and dual glass construction help the panel maintain more output in hot or harsh environments. The result is a stable, long term source of clean power with reduced performance losses over time.

N-Type half-cell energy conversion: The module uses 96 N-type half cells arranged in a 6 by 16 layout. Each half cell operates at lower current, which reduces resistive losses inside the panel. N-type silicon is less prone to light induced degradation, so power output remains more stable over the years.

Bifacial rear side gain: The transparent rear glass allows light to reach the back of the cells. Reflected light from concrete, light colored roofs, or carport surfaces can be harvested effectively. Depending on site conditions, rear side gain can significantly increase effective module power and overall system yield.

System integration and output management: The panel operates at a maximum power voltage around 30.69 volts and current around 14.99 amperes. Multiple modules are wired in series and parallel strings to match the inverter’s DC input range. The inverter monitors these strings and converts the combined DC power into grid compatible AC electricity for loads or export.

This is the first stage of my three planned purches. I got the eg4 inverter 6000 XP base kit with six 400 watt panels and the two server rack batteries. Did a little online research and followed the instructions and it got set up without any issues. Right now I'm just running it in my garage on a single outlet and have been running dual 750 watt water distillers with it. Once I get the second inverter and a bunch more panels and batteries, I plan on attaching it to my subpanel in my house that has my lights and outlets and appliances on it.
