How It Works

The XL Energy XL 6P60G235 solar panel converts sunlight into usable DC electricity using polycrystalline silicon cells. When sunlight hits the 60 interconnected cells, photons transfer energy that frees electrons inside the semiconductor material. This movement of electrons creates direct current, which flows through the panel’s internal wiring and junction box to your system cables. The generated DC power then feeds an inverter, which converts it into AC power suitable for household or commercial loads. With a voltage at maximum power of 29.8 V and current at maximum power of 7.9 A, strings can be configured to match common inverters. Under standard irradiance of 1000 W per square metre, the module delivers its rated 235 Wp, while the positive tolerance supports stronger actual output. Temperature coefficients are specified to show how voltage and power respond to cell temperature, which helps with accurate system design and yield estimates.

Light capture and DC generation: The 156×156 mm polycrystalline cells absorb incoming solar radiation on the glass protected front surface. As light intensity increases, the module’s current rises toward the short circuit current of 8.46 A, producing direct current for your system.

This is the first stage of my three planned purches. I got the eg4 inverter 6000 XP base kit with six 400 watt panels and the two server rack batteries. Did a little online research and followed the instructions and it got set up without any issues. Right now I'm just running it in my garage on a single outlet and have been running dual 750 watt water distillers with it. Once I get the second inverter and a bunch more panels and batteries, I plan on attaching it to my subpanel in my house that has my lights and outlets and appliances on it. Then I'll get a soft start for my AC and blower and run it on my main panel.
