How It Works

This 100W polycrystalline solar panel converts sunlight directly into DC electricity using high quality silicon cells. Each of the 36 polycrystalline cells generates a small voltage when exposed to light due to the photovoltaic effect. Cells are connected in series to build the panel’s working voltage around typical 12V battery charging levels. Under standard test conditions the module reaches 17.87 V at maximum power and 5.60 A of current. The generated DC power is usually fed into a solar charge controller, which optimizes charging of batteries safely. From the battery bank, energy can be used directly for DC equipment or converted to AC with an inverter. Protective materials such as tempered glass, EVA encapsulant and TPT backsheet keep the cells sealed from the environment. The junction box collects current from the strings and routes it through diodes and cables to your system wiring. As long as sunlight reaches the panel surface, it continues producing electricity quietly and without fuel or moving parts.

Photovoltaic energy conversion: Polycrystalline cells absorb photons from sunlight and release electrons inside the silicon structure. These free electrons move through the internal electric field of each cell, creating DC current at the panel terminals.

Optimized 36‑cell 12V configuration: The 36 cells are wired in series to deliver suitable voltage for 12V battery charging through a controller. This configuration helps maintain charging capability even when irradiance drops below peak levels during the day.

This is the first stage of my three planned purches. I got the eg4 inverter 6000 XP base kit with six 400 watt panels and the two server rack batteries. Did a little online research and followed the instructions and it got set up without any issues. Right now I'm just running it in my garage on a single outlet and have been running dual 750 watt water distillers with it.
