How It Works
The Beyondsun TSBHNM440-96HTG converts sunlight into usable DC electricity using advanced N-type TOPCon bifacial solar cells. Each monocrystalline cell uses high purity silicon and tunnel oxide passivated contacts to reduce electrical losses. When sunlight reaches the front glass, photons are absorbed by the 96 cells and generate electron flow. Because the module is bifacial, reflected light from surfaces like light colored roofs or ground coverings is also captured on the rear side. This additional rear side irradiation increases power generation compared with monofacial panels. The dual glass encapsulation and anodized aluminium frame protect the cells from moisture, dust, and mechanical stress. The resulting DC output is routed through the IP68 junction box, bypass diodes, and 4 mm² cables to a compatible inverter. The inverter then converts DC energy to AC power for building loads or export to the grid.
N-Type TOPCon cell architecture: N-type cells use phosphorus doped silicon which is less susceptible to light induced degradation. The TOPCon structure places a thin tunnel oxide and passivated contact layer on the rear, reducing recombination losses. This architecture improves efficiency, extends performance stability, and supports higher bifacial response.
Bifacial dual glass energy capture: The module features 2.0 mm coated tempered glass on the front and 2.0 mm heat strengthened glass on the rear. Light enters through both sides, and the cells convert direct and reflected irradiance into electricity. On bright surfaces with good albedo, rear side power gain can reach up to 30% over front only output. This helps achieve higher specific yield, especially in ground mounted, flat roof, or elevated installations.
Stable performance across temperatures: The temperature coefficient of Pmax is -0.30% per °C, which is lower than many conventional modules. As cell temperature rises, the power loss remains comparatively limited, supporting higher energy harvest in hot climates. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, with NMOT around 45°C ±2°C. This wide range allows reliable operation in diverse environments from cold regions to very warm locations.
