How It Works
The Bluebird Solar BBS24MC490 solar panel converts sunlight into usable DC electricity through high efficiency mono-crystalline PERC cells. Each 182 x 91 mm cell is designed to capture more photons and convert them into electrical current with reduced losses. The 132 half-cut cell layout lowers resistive losses and supports better shade tolerance across the module. In bifacial configurations, the rear side can harvest reflected light from surrounding surfaces to boost total energy yield per panel. Electrical energy flows through multi busbar cell connections to the junction box, where it is safely combined and routed to the inverter. The inverter then converts DC power into AC electricity that can be consumed on site or exported to the grid. A 1500 V system voltage rating enables longer strings and lower balance of system costs for large arrays. Reliable EVA encapsulation, tempered glass and a sealed IP junction box keep the cells protected from moisture, dust and mechanical stress. Over its lifetime, the panel maintains strong output thanks to low annual power degradation and stringent quality control.
Mono PERC half-cut cell conversion: Sunlight strikes the mono-crystalline PERC cells and releases electrons inside the silicon structure. Half-cut cell design shortens current paths and reduces resistive heating, so more captured light becomes usable electrical power.
Bifacial energy gain (where used): In bifacial installations, the module front generates most of the power while the rear side captures reflected light from bright surfaces. This additional irradiance can lift overall kWh output, especially over white roofs, concrete or high albedo ground.
System integration and protection: Generated DC power travels through the IP rated junction box and cables to string inverters or optimisers.
