Its 3.2 millimetre tempered low iron glass and IP68 junction box support long term outdoor exposure. The CEC6-72-420PH/PHV solar panel converts sunlight into direct current electricity using 144 polycrystalline silicon half cells. Each cell absorbs photons and frees electrons, creating an electrical current that flows through the module busbars. Under standard test conditions at 25 degrees Celsius and 1000 watts per square metre, the panel delivers a rated 420 watts. The module reaches a maximum power voltage of 39.55 volts and a maximum power current of 10.62 amps in these conditions. An open circuit voltage of 47.99 volts and a short circuit current of 11.21 amps define design margins for safe inverter matching. Temperature coefficients for power, voltage and current ensure predictable behaviour as cell temperature rises under real operating conditions. Once installed, the panel connects in series and parallel strings to achieve the desired system voltage and power. A compatible inverter then converts the generated direct current into alternating current for on site use or export to the grid.
Photon capture and DC generation: Polycrystalline silicon cells absorb incoming sunlight and release charge carriers that form a direct current flow. This current is guided by the cell grid and module wiring toward the junction box for collection.
Module behaviour across temperatures: As the module warms, power output changes according to its minus 0.36 percent per degree power coefficient. Voltage decreases slightly with a minus 0.28 percent per degree coefficient, while current rises modestly with a 0.05 percent per degree value.
System integration and safety limits: The 1500 volt maximum system voltage allows long strings on commercial inverters when designed correctly. A 20 amp series fuse rating protects the module from overcurrent when combined with suitable overcurrent devices.
