How It Works
Sunlight hits the Elerix EXS-550MHC-B solar panel and is absorbed by its monocrystalline PERC half cut cells. The cells convert this solar energy into direct current electricity, which is then routed through the integrated junction box and DC cables to the inverter. At standard test conditions the module delivers up to 550 Wp, with a maximum power voltage of 42 V and current of 13.1 A. The high efficiency design means more of the incident light becomes usable power, even when installation space is limited. Temperature coefficients have been optimised so that power loss remains moderate as cell temperature rises. The robust frame, glass and encapsulation work together to protect the cells from mechanical stress and moisture, supporting stable performance over decades of operation.
Mono PERC half-cut cell architecture: Each 182 × 91 mm monocrystalline PERC cell is cut into half cells and arranged in a 144 cell layout. This layout reduces electrical resistance and lowers operating temperature, which increases output and decreases the risk of hot spots over time.
Energy flow and system integration: Generated DC power flows from the cell strings to the IP68 junction box, which contains three bypass diodes. These diodes help the panel continue operating when partial shading occurs, while the 1500 V system rating allows longer strings and reduced cabling costs.
Temperature and environmental resilience: The panel operates from -40°C to 85°C and uses a tempered glass front with 3.2 mm thickness. Power, voltage and current temperature coefficients are engineered so performance remains stable in heat, cold and changing irradiance throughout the year.
