How It Works

This polycrystalline solar panel converts sunlight into usable direct current electricity through its 132 photovoltaic cells. When solar irradiance hits the cell surface, electrons become energized and flow as current through the module circuitry. At Standard Test Conditions the HD-66HPH-425M delivers a maximum power output of 425 W at 38.6 V and 11.02 A. The generated DC power is routed through the junction box and solar cables to a compatible inverter or charge controller. An inverter normally converts the DC electricity into alternating current for on grid or off grid applications. System designers can wire multiple panels in series or parallel strings within the 1500 V system limit. Temperature coefficients for power, voltage and current help predict performance under different ambient temperatures. The robust frame, glass and junction box protect the electrical components while they operate outdoors. Together, these elements provide a stable and efficient energy generation solution across the panel’s service life.

Energy generation process: Sunlight strikes the polycrystalline cells and releases charge carriers inside the semiconductor layers. This effect creates a voltage across each cell, and interconnected cells combine to deliver the rated module power.

Power optimization and tolerance: The module is rated with a 0 to +3% power tolerance to help ensure consistent production. Under real operating conditions, additional wattage above the nameplate rating may be delivered when irradiance is strong.

System integration and safety: The junction box includes three bypass diodes that support safer operation and reduce mismatch losses. Cables with 4 mm² cross section and 1200 mm length enable secure connections into string circuits and combiner hardware.

This is the first stage of my three planned purches. I got the eg4 inverter 6000 XP base kit with six 400 watt panels and the two server rack batteries. Did a little online research and followed the instructions and it got set up without any issues. Right now I'm just running it in my garage on a single outlet and have been running dual 750 watt water distillers with it. Once I get the second inverter and a bunch more panels and batteries, I plan on attaching it to my subpanel in my house that has my lights and outlets and appliances on it. Then I'll get a soft start for my AC and blower and run it on my main panel.
