This IB Solar 100W polycrystalline solar panel converts sunlight into DC electricity through interconnected silicon cells. Each of the 36 polycrystalline cells generates a small voltage when exposed to light. These cells are wired in series inside the module to provide a combined voltage around 17.85 volts at maximum power. The module then delivers approximately 5.75 amperes of current at that operating point, creating the 100 Wp rated output under standard test conditions. A charge controller or inverter receives this DC power and conditions it for battery storage or AC loads. Protective materials such as EVA, PET, and tempered glass ensure optical clarity while insulating the circuitry from moisture and dust. The IP65 junction box, diodes, and connectors help maintain safe operation when the panel is integrated within broader solar systems.
Photovoltaic energy conversion: Sunlight hits the polycrystalline silicon cells and frees charge carriers inside the semiconductor structure. An internal electric field drives these charges to create DC voltage across the cell terminals, which is collected and combined at the module output.
