This QPower QPM-655S solar panel converts sunlight into usable DC electricity using high efficiency PERC monocrystalline cells. Each of the 132 cells is wired together in a carefully designed circuit that balances voltage and current output. When exposed to sunlight, photons strike the PERC cells and release electrical charges that flow through the module’s busbars. These charges generate current that is delivered through the junction box and cables to a compatible inverter. The inverter then converts the DC output into AC power suitable for on site loads or for grid export. The module’s electrical characteristics, including voltage at maximum power and current at maximum power, are optimized to match contemporary 1500 V string inverters. Thermal coefficients and the wide operating temperature range help maintain stable production in real world conditions across seasons and climates.
PERC monocrystalline cell architecture: The module uses PERC technology, where a passivated rear surface reflects unabsorbed light back through the cell. This process increases internal light capture and raises overall efficiency compared with standard monocrystalline cells. The monocrystalline structure supports high performance and stable long term behavior in utility installations.
Optimized electrical output and string design: At standard conditions, the panel offers a maximum power of 655 Wp with a Vmpp of 38.11 V and Impp of 17.19 A. Open circuit voltage reaches 45.21 V, while short circuit current is 18.44 A, supporting flexible string sizing on 1500 V systems. These parameters enable longer strings, reduced cable runs, and lower balance of system costs.
Thermal behavior and durability in the field: Temperature coefficients of -0.36%/°C for Pmax and -0.26%/°C for Voc help limit power loss as cell temperatures rise. The operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C allows the panel to function reliably in extreme cold and intense heat. A three diode junction box and IP rated protection help safeguard performance against localized shading and environmental exposure.
