This monocrystalline solar panel converts sunlight into direct current electricity using high efficiency silicon cells. When sunlight reaches the 210 mm half cut cells, photons transfer energy to electrons in the silicon lattice. These energized electrons move through an internal electric field and create a steady DC current at the module output leads. The panel operates at a maximum power point of 550 Wp under standard test conditions, with a Vmpp of 31.6 volts and Impp of 17.4 amps. In typical outdoor operation, the NOCT rating delivers around 417 Wp at 29.4 volts and 14.19 amps, supporting stable production in real weather conditions. The generated DC power is routed through MC4 connectors and 4 mm² solar cable to an inverter, which converts it into AC electricity for on site consumption or export to the grid.
Monocrystalline half cut cell design: The QS550-110HM10 uses monocrystalline PERC cells cut into halves to reduce resistive losses. This layout increases module efficiency and improves shade tolerance across the string, supporting higher energy yield in partial shading.
Optimized electrical operating points: At STC, the panel reaches 31.6 V at maximum power with 37.9 V open circuit voltage and 18.52 A short circuit current. Under NOCT, the operating point shifts to 29.4 V and 14.19 A, which helps the inverter track the maximum power point across varying temperatures and irradiance.
Protective materials and junction box: A 3.2 mm tempered glass front with anti reflection coating enhances light transmission while safeguarding the cells from impact and weather. On the rear side, an IP68 rated junction box and MC4 connectors maintain secure electrical connections and protect against dust and water ingress through many years of outdoor exposure.
