This Sail Solar SAS405M-108H solar panel converts sunlight into usable direct current electricity using high efficiency silicon cells. Each of the 108 half cut monocrystalline cells absorbs incoming solar irradiance on the panel surface. Photons in sunlight excite electrons within the silicon crystal lattice and create an electrical potential. This potential drives current through the cell interconnections and the integrated busbars. At maximum power, the module operates around 31.23 volts and 12.97 amperes under standard conditions. The panel connects through MC4 compatible connectors and 4 square millimeter cables to the system array. Energy then flows to an inverter, which converts the direct current into grid compatible alternating current power. Built in bypass diodes inside the IP68 junction box help limit hot spots and reduce mismatch losses. The module is optimized to maintain stable output over a wide temperature range from minus 40 to plus 85 degrees. Temperature coefficients for power, voltage, and current are carefully controlled to protect yield in hot climates.
