How It Works
This Upsolar monocrystalline module converts sunlight into direct current electricity through its 120 half cut PERC cells. Each cell uses a high quality monocrystalline silicon wafer treated with passivated rear contacts to capture more light. When photons strike the cells, electrons are released and driven through the circuit, creating usable electrical power. Cells are wired in an optimized series parallel configuration to deliver a maximum power voltage of 34.8 V and current of 13.36 A. The tempered glass, EVA encapsulant, and backsheet protect the cells from weather and mechanical stress. Generated DC power is routed through the IP68 junction box and MC4 connectors to the system wiring. From there it is typically fed into a compatible string inverter or hybrid inverter that converts DC into AC. The panel operates across a broad temperature range, delivering dependable output in hot or cold conditions when properly installed.
PERC monocrystalline energy conversion: The PERC structure adds a passivated layer on the rear side of each cell. This design reflects unabsorbed light back through the silicon, increasing the chance of photon capture and power generation. Monocrystalline material ensures uniform crystal structure, which enhances carrier mobility and efficiency.
Half cut cell and string layout: The module uses 120 half cut cells to reduce resistive losses and improve shade tolerance. By dividing standard cells, operating current is lowered, which reduces internal heating and boosts real world yield. The layout also helps maintain production when minor shading affects one part of the array.
Protective construction and power delivery: Cells are laminated between EVA layers and covered by 3.2 mm tempered glass with anti reflection coating.
