How It Works
This 48‑cell polycrystalline module converts sunlight into usable electrical power through the photovoltaic effect. Each blue polycrystalline cell is made from silicon, which releases electrons when exposed to solar radiation. The cells are wired in series and parallel within the panel to achieve the specified current and voltage values. At standard test conditions, the AS220-48 delivers a maximum power of 220 Wp at 25.2 V and 8.74 A. When connected using its MC4 connectors, the generated direct current flows to an inverter, charge controller or DC load, depending on system design. The tempered glass protects the cells from impact and moisture while allowing efficient light transmission. The IP68 junction box safeguards electrical connections, improving safety and reliability in outdoor environments.
Solar energy capture and conversion: Sunlight hits the 48 polycrystalline cells, where photons transfer energy to electrons in the silicon lattice. Those energized electrons move through the internal circuit, creating direct current electricity that can be used or stored by the system.
Voltage and current management: The module is engineered to deliver a maximum power voltage of 25.2 V and current of 8.74 A under standard conditions. Open‑circuit voltage of 30.9 V and short‑circuit current of 9.13 A define the electrical limits used for safe array sizing and inverter matching.
