How It Works
This Amso Solar AS230-48 polycrystalline solar panel converts sunlight into usable direct current electricity through its 48 photovoltaic cells. When sunlight strikes the polycrystalline silicon surface, photons transfer energy to electrons inside the cell structure. These energized electrons move through an internal electric field and are collected as current by the panel conductors. Under standard test conditions the module delivers a maximum power of 230 watts at 25.5 volts and 9.02 amps. The panel connects into a larger array and feeds a compatible inverter or charge controller. That equipment converts the direct current into alternating current or controlled battery charging power. Protection features such as the IP68 junction box, reliable MC4 connectors, and qualified fusing help ensure safe long term operation. System designers use the voltage, current, and temperature coefficients to size strings correctly and maintain performance across seasons.
