The Amso Solar AS340-72 polycrystalline module converts sunlight into direct current electricity using its 72 interconnected solar cells. When sunlight hits the polycrystalline cells, photons are absorbed and free electrons are released, creating an electric current. This current flows through the cell busbars, then through the module’s internal wiring into the IP68 junction box. From there, MC4 connectors link the panel to the rest of the solar array and system components. In a typical installation, multiple modules are connected in series and parallel to achieve the desired DC voltage and current. The DC power then feeds a solar inverter or charge controller, which converts it to usable AC power or controlled DC for batteries. Temperature coefficients and operating limits help keep output predictable in real-world conditions.
