How It Works

The SEG Solar SEG-470-BTB-BG solar panel works by converting sunlight into direct current electricity through high efficiency N-type TOPCon monocrystalline cells. Each half-cut cell generates power when photons strike the silicon and release electrons, creating an electric current across the cell surface. These cells are interconnected into a 120 half-cell layout that reduces resistive losses and improves shade tolerance under partial obstruction. The bifacial glass-glass design captures light on both the front and rear sides, increasing total energy yield over reflective surfaces like white roofs, concrete, or light gravel. Produced current flows through the integrated MC4-compatible connectors to the DC cabling and onward to the inverter, where it is converted into AC electricity usable by homes, businesses, or the grid. Integrated bypass diodes inside the IP68 junction box help protect the string during shading or mismatch events, maintaining stable system performance. The module is engineered to operate between -40°C and 85°C, with optimized temperature coefficients that limit power loss on very hot days. Over time, a controlled degradation rate and robust materials ensure that energy production stays strong across the full thirty-year warranty period.

N-Type TOPCon cell conversion: Sunlight strikes the N-type TOPCon monocrystalline cells and frees electrons within the silicon structure. The cell design reduces recombination losses, so more of the captured light becomes usable electric current with higher efficiency and lower degradation.

Bifacial double-glass energy capture: The front glass receives direct sunlight while the rear glass collects reflected and diffused light from the ground or nearby surfaces.
