Advanced PERC monocrystalline cells: Passivated emitter rear contact technology improves light capture and reduces recombination losses. This results in higher real world yields, especially during mornings, evenings, and cloudy weather.

The Upsolar UP-M395MH converts sunlight into usable direct current power using high efficiency monocrystalline cells. Each of the 120 half cut cells is fabricated from a 166 by 83 millimetre mono silicon wafer. PERC technology adds a passivated rear layer that reflects unused light back into the cell. This improves charge carrier collection and enhances current generation under weak light conditions. When sunlight hits the cell surface, photons excite electrons in the silicon lattice. An internal electric field directs these electrons, creating a flow of direct current electricity. All cells are wired in an optimized configuration to deliver a maximum power voltage of 35.5 volts. The current reaches up to 11.13 amps at maximum power under standard test conditions. An integrated junction box and MC4 connectors then route the output safely to the system wiring. The module works within a wide ambient temperature range and maintains stable performance through careful design.
Half-cut cell architecture: The 120 half cut cells are arranged to reduce internal resistive losses and heat buildup. Each full size cell is divided into two parts, which lowers current and boosts overall efficiency. This layout also lessens the impact of local shading on total module power output. In practical terms, the array can sustain better yield when parts of the panel are shaded.
PERC rear surface passivation: The PERC structure uses a passivated rear surface that reflects some light back through the cell.
