Optimized for the Latest High-Voltage 80/88/96-Cell Modules: The IQ8X's 79.5V maximum input voltage and 43–60V MPPT range are specifically engineered for the higher open-circuit voltages (Voc) produced by modern large-format module designs — including 80-half-cut cell, 88-half-cut cell, and 96-cell configurations that have become the dominant format in residential solar module production. These modules regularly produce Voc values that exceed the maximum input voltage tolerance of prior IQ7-series microinverters, making the IQ8X the correct and only Enphase microinverter platform for installations using current-generation 430W–540W large-format modules. The 14A maximum Isc rating also accommodates the higher short-circuit currents produced by modern high-efficiency cell designs.
