    Company Overview

SnapNrack is headquartered at 775 Fiero Lane, Suite 200, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. The company operates as a division of SunRun South LLC (DBA SnapNrack), making it one of the few racking manufacturers owned by a major solar installer. This connection to the installation workforce gives SnapNrack unique insight into the real-world challenges installers face on the roof, driving product development toward labor-reducing innovations.

SnapNrack's market position is defined by its installer-first design philosophy. The company was the first to bring preassembled clamp mounts to market, eliminating the need for installers to fumble with T-bolts and rail hardware on the roof. All roof attachments come rail-ready out of the box—simply lag in the mount and start dropping in rail immediately. The SnapNrack R&D test facility in Santa Cruz, CA is a qualified participant in the UL Data Acceptance Program, allowing the company to directly submit in-house UL 2703 testing results.

    Current Product Lines

    Ultra Rail System

The Ultra Rail is SnapNrack's flagship rail-based mounting system, available in two profiles:

    • UR-40 Rail: Standard residential rail for most wind and snow conditions. Available in 132" and 168" lengths.
    • UR-60 Rail: Heavy-duty rail for high-load applications. Available in 172" length.

The Ultra Rail system includes universal mid-clamps, end clamps, splices, ground lugs, and a full range of roof attachments. All hardware uses a consistent 1/2" socket connection throughout the system for tool simplicity.

    TopSpeed Railless System

TopSpeed is SnapNrack's railless mounting solution, eliminating rails entirely for faster installation and a cleaner aesthetic. Modules are mounted directly to roof attachments using integrated clamping hardware. The system requires the Universal Landscape SkirtRail for a complete, code-compliant finish.

    SkirtRail

The SkirtRail is a black anodized aluminum skirt that conceals module edges, wiring, and hardware for improved curb appeal. Available in landscape (70") and portrait (83") configurations. Compatible with both Ultra Rail and TopSpeed systems. Made in the USA from durable aluminum.

    Roof Attachments

SnapNrack's roof attachment line features preassembled Clamp Mounts that come rail-ready out of the box:

    • UltraFoot: Universal mounting base for composition shingle and flat surfaces.
    • SpeedSeal Foot: Speed-optimized attachment with integrated sealing technology.
    • AnchorFoot: Attachment for composition shingle and low-slope roofs. Uses butyl strip seal and DeckAnchor screws for deck mounting, or lag screws for rafter mounting. No shingle lifting required.
    • Universal OmniBase: Works with 1 lag on rafters, 2-4 on flat or metal framing. Rafter-less ready with 6-screw mounting. Built-in sealant pockets and anti-rotation features.
    • Ultra Rail Adjustable Tile Hook: One tile hook for all tile types (flat, S, W). Slotted arm for vertical adjustment. Preassembled with Ultra Rail Mount. Can mount to roof deck with wood screws.
    • Tile Hook F: For flat tile roofs only.
    • Tile Hook WS: For S and W tile profiles.
    • Tile Replacement Flashing: Flat, S, and W tile replacement kits.

    Ultra Rail Flush-Mount Kits

Pre-bundled kits that include the Universal OmniBase and Leveling Clamp in one package. Available in standoff heights of 5.5", 7", and 8.5". Packaged 20 units per box. The Leveling Clamp features direct-to-rail design (no L-foot needed) with fine-tune vertical adjustment.

    Series 100 & 200 (Legacy)

SnapNrack's Series 100 and 200 systems are legacy rail-based mounting systems that received updated UL 2703 listings in 2024, restructuring the grounding/bonding listing for improved ease of installation while maintaining strict compliance with UL 2703 test standards.

    SnapNrack USA Line

Selected products are manufactured in the USA to help meet domestic content requirements, including the Universal Landscape SkirtRail (70", black), the Ultra Rail Adjustable Tile Hook (USA), and other key components. These USA-made products support IRS Domestic Content Bonus Credit qualification.

    Conduit Mounts & Accessories

SnapNrack offers Universal Conduit Mounts for routing electrical conduit across rooftops, as well as MLPE (module-level power electronics) frame and rail attachment kits, Smart Clips for wire management, and tilt kits for angled applications.

    Ground Mount (Pipe Clamp System)

SnapNrack offers a ground-mount system using SnapNrack Ground Rails with 1.5" or 2" steel pipe vertical members and horizontal supports. Uses Hollaender fittings for pipe connections. Includes N-S and E-W bracing.

    Recent Releases (2025-2026)

    • Metal standing seam: S-5! metal roof solutions in partnership with SnapNrack.
    • Low-slope/membrane: AnchorFoot on low-slope rolled composition or membrane roofs with no standing water.

    Tools Required

    • 1/2" socket (single tool for entire system)
    • Socket wrench or impact driver
    • Drill with 3/16" pilot bit
    • Tape measure and roof marking crayon

    Span Tables & Installation Guidelines

    • Mid-clamp spacing: Modules are spaced 0.5" apart with SnapNrack mid clamps.
    • Rail end overhang: Maximum 34% of the maximum rail span.
    • Cantilever: Approximately 25% of module length, not exceeding 30%.
    • Lag screw embedment: Minimum 2.5" into roof framing member. SnapNrack sells 5/16" x 3.5" SS lag screws (part #014-06508) and 5/16" x 5" (part #014-06509).
    • Standoff max height: 10" for 1-Hole and 4-Hole Base Standoffs (plus 1" spacers); 18" for 6-Hole HD Standoff Base.
    • Torque specs: Black hardware: 8-10 ft-lbs. Silver hardware: 10-16 ft-lbs.
    • Flashed L-Foot orientation: Can be oriented in any of four 90-degree directions.

    AnchorFoot Installation

The AnchorFoot is designed for installation on dry, clean surfaces at temperatures above 32°F. The butyl strip on the bottom of the foot provides the primary seal. For deck mounting, use DeckAnchor screws through the foot mounting holes. For rafter mounting, use a 5/16" lag screw (2.5" minimum embedment) plus 2 x #14 wood screws (1.25" minimum embedment) into the rafter. Tighten fasteners until butyl starts squeezing out from all sides. The AnchorFoot should never be installed across two shingle courses.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. What is the advantage of SnapNrack's preassembled Clamp Mounts?

SnapNrack's Clamp Mounts come preassembled to all roof attachments (UltraFoot, SpeedSeal, AnchorFoot, Tile Hooks), meaning the rail mounting hardware is already attached when you open the box. Installers simply lag the mount to the roof and immediately drop in the rail—no fumbling with T-bolts, no hardware falling off the roof. SnapNrack was the first company to bring this technology to market.

    2. What is the TopSpeed railless system and when should I use it?

TopSpeed is SnapNrack's railless mounting solution that eliminates rails entirely, mounting modules directly to roof attachments. It reduces material costs, installation time, and visual profile. TopSpeed requires the Universal Landscape SkirtRail for code compliance. It is best suited for residential installations with consistent module layouts where the aesthetic and speed benefits outweigh the design flexibility of rail-based systems.

    3. Can SnapNrack rails be used with Quick Mount PV mounts?

Yes. SnapNrack has explicitly stated support for using Series 100 Standard Rails and module mounting hardware with Quick Mount PV roof mounts, specifically their QBlock and QBase products. This cross-brand compatibility gives installers flexibility to pair SnapNrack rails with their preferred attachment solution.

    4. What makes the Universal OmniBase different from other mounts?

The OmniBase is a truly universal mounting solution that works with 1 lag screw on rafters, 2-4 screws on flat or metal framing, or 6 screws for rafter-less surfaces. It includes built-in sealant pockets, anti-rotation features, and compatibility with common flashings and e-curbs. It comes preassembled with the Leveling Clamp for direct-to-rail mounting without an L-foot.

    5. What warranty does SnapNrack offer and is it transferable?

SnapNrack offers a 25-year warranty under its "One Tool. One Warranty." program, covering the entire system—rails, mounts, clamps, and skirt—under a single manufacturer warranty. The warranty covers structural components against defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the solar installation.
